Below are some weekend activities for the amazing weather coming up!
1. Visiting DC - take the kids and yourself out to DC this weekend to soak up sun and walk around the national monuments. We are all so lucky to be living close to the nation's capital and sometimes we don't take advantage of it enough! Take a look at the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and even the reflecting pool. Maybe, pack a picnic basket and lot's of water and sunscreen to enjoy lunch on the national lawn and if you're up for it bring your pet too!
2. The POOL! - now that Memorial Day has passed, the pools are open and in full swing. Pack up and head to the pool for some tanning (don't forget the sunscreen!) and some relaxation. Make sure to bring a lot of water, some snacks, sunscreen or some change if the ice cream man decides to come around.
3.
32nd Annual Wine & Food Festival - The annual wine and food festival is back again! Local wineries and top rated chefs come together at the wine and food festival to offer foodies and wine lovers a taste of the best. If you are interested in wine, the wine and food festival allows you to sample different wines from local wineries in the area and you can buy your favorite one! Also, top rated chefs are coming in to prepare delicious three course meals for taste testing as well! Click

4. Cicada Circus - We all know that talk about cicadas has been circling the web as well as all media sites and as we anxiously await for their arrival, we are mentally preparing ourselves for the big insects and their incessant buzzing. If you are interested in learning more about these insects that appear every 17 years, Hidden Oaks Nature Center located in Annandale, VA is hosting a Cicada Circus this weekend! You'll be able to see cicada up close and learn to tell the difference between male and female as well as some other interesting information about them.

5. Grilling, BBQ, Luau - Not interested in venturing out into the great heat coming this weekend? If you're not tired of grilling or having BBQ's, the weather is a great time to bring out the grill once again! Invite friends over for a potluck style BBQ session or even a lobster/crab festival! If you're really up to it, head to your local party store and invest in some tiki torches and lei's and have a luau with mixed drinks and potluck food. It'll be great to sit outside and relax in the weather surrounded by great company once again.
