Welcome Summer (:

Hello, Summer! (: Today marks the first day of summer, even though I've technically been on summer break for the past month and a half. Can you believe that June is almost over?! Time flies... and then I'll be heading back down to JMU in no time to finish my last year as an undergrad student... whoa. Today, the weather is absolutely beautiful and it's been a lovely day of relaxation. My sisters and I had lunch at a local Vietnamese restaurant with my grandma and then went thrifting! My grandma ended up buying a tie for my grandpa and a new thermos (which is one of the older models with the cup attached, kind of like the ones used for hiking). My sister treated herself to a new white satchel (great for summer) and found some high waisted jeans that we're going to cut up and turn into shorts! Hooray! (: Thrifting with my grandma is more fun than I thought it would be. I hope everyone is enjoying their first day of summer and the wonderful weather!! Oh, and guest appearance by my lovely dog, Coco (hehe)

With love, Cassandra

I Really Tried...

I really tried to look like a model showing off my outfit but then I felt too awkward and couldn't come up with a pose... it didn't help that my sister was the one taking the pictures so she kept laughing at me for looking really awkward against the wall. Oops... at least this one doesn't look so bad!

  • chambray blue blouse (Marshalls)
  • high-waisted floral jeans (Urban Outfitters)
  • silver belt (JCrew)
  • sandals (Marshalls)
I love these high-waisted jeans I found on sale at the Urban Outfitters in New York. The only downfall was that the zipper was broken when I bought them, so to get them fixed it cost a bit more than what I originally paid for the jeans. Oh well, I love high-waisted pants! They look great and really can make you feel a bit more sophisticated if you pair a nice blouse with it. The tricky part is floral high-waisted pants may make you look like you're wearing your grandma's pants if you look too casual.

clearly, i'm a natural (;

Cool Mint Sensation

Today, I had an interview with The Curious Grape for a position as a "Cheese Bartender". As a cheese bartender, I would be plating cheese, plating desserts, helping clients pair wine with their cheese and being a barista and working their espresso machine. I really hope that I get the position because I've always wanted to expand my knowledge about wine, cheese and coffee and knowing all about these three areas will definitely help me in the hospitality field. Woo! Not to mention, the pay is great and you also receive tip on top of that! Woo! So this summer is looking up to be really busy and will hopefully open up a lot of doors for me in the future. Anyways, this is my OOTD. Please ignore my derpy face, I never know how to pose for pictures like this... hehe (:

OOTD:
black maxi skirt (Rumors Boutique)
mint vneck (walmart)
gold elephant chain (f21)
leopard print Toms (gift  from my love pumpkin and dance partner)

clearly i am super attractive and extremely photogenic (; duhh

What's your sign?

Today I started my first day at my internship! I ended up just researching things for the store and am now headed out to Rumors' Zodiac Party tonight. The party is 21+ but since I'm not 21, I'm the photographer tonight. I'm kindof nervous because I'm rolling up alone and I don't have one of those nice cameras, all I have is a dinky digital camera and the fact that I don't know anyone... so wish me luck guys! I'm pretty nervous! Here is my outfit for tonight, peep the DIY pearl collar (:

Sheer (?) Peach collared button up -- DIY pearl collar
High waisted dark shorts
Earrings (Forever 21)
Ankle Cowboy Booties (not pictured/Urban Outfitters)
Oh, and Red Lipstick! Woop woop!
